The story behind Watch:Werkz

Watch:Werkz was born out of pure passion and interest for watches.
In 2004, a young university student took a keen interest in the creative
designs and technicals of mechanical watches.

Yuyan, better known as Yan, just wanted to know how this
magical marriage between function and form can co-exist in
mechanical watches.

This simple curiosity set her on the path of discovering the intricacies
of horology. She was fascinated by the artistry and science that
goes into a beautiful timepiece.

Yan began to speak to horologists and watch dealers as she hunted
for her own humble collection.

The skills and knowledge acquired along the way got Yan sharing her
knowledge generously with anyone who is keen to know about collecting
watches.

She became a regular contributor in online watch forums, exchanging
ideas and opinions with other watch collectors on the latest models
from various brands.

Within the same year, Yan turned her passion into business as a small
watch dealer under the name of "Impress Watches”. 
She searched for talented watchmakers and craftsmen who make affordable
quality timepieces and watch-related products.

As a watch collector herself, Yan understands the importance of assuring
quality of the timepieces she sells and the services her customers deserves.

To date she strictly refuses to sell works of replicas and fakes.
To her, they are nothing but an infringemen of craftsmen's hard work.

In 2008, Impress Watches was renamed Watch:Werkz to signify its
coming of age and the confidence that she has acquired over the years.

Today Watch:Werkz is well known for its integrity and service.
Yan maintains a close bond with her regular customers. 
It is a small community after all.

Yan's other passion includes dance, musical, fitness, music, nature,
water sports, travel and movies.
